ALL CANON REGULAR SAINTS

FEAST

Entrance Antiphon        Si 44:15

The peoples will proclaim the wisdom of the saints. The Church will celebrate their praises.

Opening Prayer

Lord God

with reverence and love we honor today

the saints who professed the canonical life.

Supported and strengthened by their intercession,

may we reach our journey’s end and come to you,

the origin and reward of all goodness.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

First Reading      Acts 4:32-35

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.

The whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, as everything they owned was held in common. The apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and they were all accorded great respect. None of their members was ever in want, as all those who owned land or houses would sell them, and bring the money from the sale of them, to present it to the apostles; it was then distributed to any who might be in need.

The word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm      Ps 132

R/. How good and pleasant it is,

when brothers live in unity.

How good and pleasant it is,

when brothers live in unity. R/.

It is like the precious oil upon the head

running down upon the beard,

running down upon Aaron’s beard,

upon the collar of his robes R/.

It is like the dew of Hermon

which falls on the heights of Sion.

For there the Lord gives his blessing,

life for ever. R/.

Gospel Acclamation      Jn 15:17

Alleluia, Alleluia.

My command to you

is to love one another.

Alleluia.

Gospel        Jn 15:17-20

A reading from the holy Gospel according to John.

Jesus said to his disciples:

My command to you is to love one another. If the world hates you, you must realize that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong to the world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you. Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as well.

The Gospel of the Lord.

Prayer over the Gifts

Lord God,

we offer you these gifts

to express our devotion.

May they be acceptable to you

in honor of the saints of our Order,

and profitable to us, who ask your mercy,

through Christ our Lord

Preface

V/. The Lord be with you.

R/. And also with you.

V/. Lift up your hearts.

R/. We lift them up to the Lord.

V/. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

R/. It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Father, all-powerful and ever-living God,

we do well always and everywhere

to give you thanks through Jesus Christ our Lord.

By his grace, your servants,

while on their earthly pilgrimage,

lived the common life

and exercised the sacred ministry to perfection.

Thus they made ever greater progress in virtue,

enriched your Church with apostolic fruitfulness,

and made a way for us to follow eagerly in their footsteps.

Guided by the shining light of their canonical life,

may we grow in respect and love for your people,

and come at last, in their company, to the eternal Jerusalem.

And so, we join the angels and archangels

and the great throng of the saints,

as they sing their triumphant song of praise:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

Communion Antiphon   Ps 32:1

Rejoice in the Lord, you just.

Praise is fitting from upright hearts.

Prayer after Communion

Lord God,

grant that we may always find joy

in honoring the saints of our Order.

May we be strengthened by their unfailing intercession.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
