The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me; he has sent me to announce good news to the poor; to heal the broken-hearted

Opening Prayer

Lord God,

you enabled Saint Peter

to follow Christ closely in his poverty and humility.

By his prayers,

may we walk faithfully in our vocation,

and so come to the perfection you have shown us in your Son,

our Lord Jesus Christ,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

Prayer over the Gifts

All powerful Father,

we bow down in prayer before your splendor

and offer these gifts in honor of your saints.

As these gifts bear witness to your power and glory,

so may they bring near to us

the effects of your salvation.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Communion Antiphon Mt 28:20

I will be with you always, to the end of time, says the Lord

Prayer after Communion

All-powerful God,

may we who are nourished by this holy food,

always follow the example of Saint Peter,

by adoring you with steadfast devotion

and serving your people with unfailing charity.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
