SAINT GILBERT OF SEMPRINGHAN, PRIEST
Memorial
Entrance Antiphon Ps 15:5-6
Lord,
you are my portion and my cup; you restore my inheritance. The measuring lines
fall for me in pleasant places; my inheritance is my great delight.
Opening Prayer
Father,
you
enabled Saint Gilbert
to follow
Christ closely in his poverty.
By
his prayers,
may we
walk faithfully in our vocation,
and so
come to the perfection
you have
shown us in your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God,
for ever and ever.
Prayer over the Gifts
God
of mercy,
you
changed the life of Saint Gilbert
and
created him anew in your image.
Renew
us in the same way,
so that
our peace—offering may be acceptable to you.
We
ask this through Christ our Lord.
Communion Antiphon Mt 19-27-29
Truly
I tell you, that you who have left everything and followed
me, will be repaid a hundred times over, and gain eternal life.
Prayer after Communion
All-powerful
God,
may we
who are strengthened
by the
power of this sacrament
learn
from the example of Saint Gilbert
to seek
you above all things
and to
live in this world as your new creation.
We
ask this through Christ our Lord.
