What is new at Klosterneuburg:
Photos
from the Profession of Solemn and Simple Vows
On August 28th, the feast of St. Augustine, during the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass, Pius professed solemn vows and Fr. Clemens, Fr. Elias and Josef professed
simply vows.
Enjoy a few pictures from this happy occasion.

Procession...

Josef, Fr. Elias, Fr. Clemens and Pius listen to the Word of God
amidst the splendor of the basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady.

Fr. Clemens signs his hand written copy of the profession...

and Fr. Elias...

and Josef.

Pius, after professing solemn vows, is clothed
in the purple mozzetta.
What's
going on with the newly professed?
Pius was ordained a deacon on
September 28th and will be serving as an assistant at the Canon Law Institute at
the University of Vienna as part of his doctoral program. He celebrated
his diaconate
ordination with a parish pilgrimage to Rome.
He will spend the next several months preparing for his priestly ordination.
Please keep him in your prayers!
Fr. Clemens with Fr. Alois will be the first Canons
Regular from Klosterneuburg to serve at our new parish in Bergen, Norway. They
are, as far as we know, the first Canons Regular to serve in Norway since the
Protestant Reformation. In addition to care of a vibrant parish, one of
the largest in Norway, Fr. Alois and Fr. Clemens are charged with the
responsibility of organizing a residence for the community.
Fr. Clemens will no doubt keep up informed of his activities and triumphs
throughout the coming year.
Fr. Elias is working at one of the Stift's largest
parishes in Donaufeld. He will be assisting Fr. Anton as an Aushilfskaplan,
meaning something like "help-out or supply curate" in caring for this
parish of 7,000 souls. In addition Fr. Elias hopes to work on a Master's
Degree at the University of Vienna as well as other projects.
Fr. Elias will soon be putting up pictures of his parish and let us know about
some of his work there.
Josef just began his studies at the University of
St. Thomas Aquinas, the Angelicum, in Rome, where he will be pursuing his
Bachelors of Sacred Theology during the next three years. He is living at
the Swedish College and looks forward to the unique opportunities afforded to
one who studies and lives in Rome. Already his October is filled with
various events, e.g. the diaconate ordination of the Pontifical North American
College, the 25th anniversary of our Holy Father's pontificate, the
beatification of Mother Teresa and the Consistory.
Josef, when he finds the time, will let us know how it is going.
