Candidates for the Novitiate 2003-2004
On St. Patrick's Day the Chapter Council voted to accept four candidates for the
novitiate. In order of application, the Chapter Council has given
its approval for a Norwegian, two Americans and an Austrian to begin the novitiate
later this year. They will be clothed in the evening on August 27th, just
prior to the first Vespers of the Feast of St. Augustine.
We are very excited to be welcoming these men. Others may still be
accepted.
We thank God for His generosity towards this community and thank you for your prayers and please keep them coming!
Construction
The daily cacophony of drills and hammers, though not particularly melodious, is
music to our ears. It is a sign of life and growth. Through the clouds of pulverized
plaster -- you can see the effect in the photo below! -- we are beginning to see
four new rooms taking shape for our expanding juniorate.
Society of St. Leopold
We are in the final stages of establishing the lay association that will
assist us in our mission to bring the canons to the United States.
Moreover, the Society of St. Leopold represents our first step in creating a third order for lay
people to collaborate with us in this great undertaking for God.
